We’re in the thick of marathon season so naturally, that has the consultants at CKingEducation thinking about all the #math that runners must contemplate! What marathon related word problems could you ask your students? Here’s one we came up with: Bilal ran a half-marathon (13.1 miles) at an average speed of 9mph. Carina ran the same half-marathon at an average speed of 7mph. How much longer did it take Bilal to complete the race than Carina? Share your word problem and grade level in the comments below and feel free to solve ours! #mathematics #maths #mathproblems #mathematician #mathconsultancy #mathteacher #mathteachers #mathteachersofinstagram #mathstudent #mathematical #mathskills #mathisfun #education #learning #mathematicians #mathstudents #school #study #mathematic #lovemath #mathlovers #mathiseverywhere #ckingedmath #ckingeducation #consultantservices #mathintherealworld #mathematicalpractices #mathpractices

Let’s talk math manipulatives this Monday morning! They are incredibly effective in making abstract mathematical concepts more concrete at any age. Consider the tactile, visual and kinesthetic feedback being sent back to the brain! Tell us...what are your favorite math manipulatives and what math concepts do you use them to teach? #mathematics #math #maths #mathproblems #mathematician #mathconsultancy #mathteacher #mathteachers #mathteachersofinstagram #mathstudent #mathematical #mathskills #mathisfun #education #learning #mathematicians #mathstudents #school #study #mathematic #lovemath #mathlovers #mathiseverywhere #ckingedmath #ckingeducation #consultantservices #mathintherealworld #mathematicalpractices #mathpractices #mathmanipulatives

Let’s talk #mondaymotivation What do you think of this quote? Relatable? More importantly, what strategies do you employ to teach students that making mistakes is okay and even valuable? How do you teach them to use their mistakes for growth? #mathematics #math #maths #mathproblems #mathematician #mathconsultancy #mathteacher #mathteachers #mathteachersofinstagram #mathstudent #mathematical #mathskills #mathisfun #education #learning #mathematicians #mathstudents #school #study #mathematic #lovemath #mathlovers #mathiseverywhere #ckingedmath #mathintherealworld #mathematicalpractices #mathpractices

A school bus driver is driving through NYC. The bus is going 30 miles per hour. How long will it take the bus to drive 2 miles? How would you extend this problem to challenge students? **Bonus points if you share your solution in instagram stories and tag @ckinged (show that work) #mathematics #math #maths #mathproblems #mathematician #mathconsultancy #mathteacher #mathteachers #mathteachersofinstagram #mathstudent #mathematical #mathskills #mathisfun #education #learning #mathematicians #mathstudents #school #study #mathematic #lovemath #mathlovers #mathiseverywhere #ckingmath

@shyleece loved your rounding on a number line tool. Can be used as a vertical or horizontal #numberline. Great discussions on range and midpoint.
